chicken trip

We (over)loaded our car today, with 60 living creatures.

Us 4 (the kids and me)

and 56 on the roof,

sorry no more space IN the car.

The children squeezed in their bikes

and there was just enough space for them to sit.

Well, we made it all safe and sound to the farm,

a 25 kilometres from our house, just outside town.

Friends of us run a chicken farm.

Our kids played with their friends and rode around the farm

 on their bicycles.

Round and round.

I had a coffee with my friend and visited her new and almost finished house.

It´s gonna be a very nice house.

Every 7 weeks we bring our chickens to the farm.

Within a day or so we get them back

all nicely packed and frozen and stack them in our freezer.

The boys raise chickens since we arrived here.

They do that well.

The boys buy them as pintos (little chicks)

and grow them in about 5 weeks.

After the 5 weeks, or a bit more, we bring them in or out

(depends on how you see it) to get slaughtered

and after that they get them all back,

bits and pieces and all,

rock hard frozen.

Friends of us enjoy our chickens as well

and they keep a few of them in their freezers until finished.

Our chickens were last in line and had to wait for all these chickens.

Our chickens weight: 83.8 kgs for 56 chickens.
